OUR COMMUNITY ENRICHES YOUR RETIREMENT EXPERIENCE

Comfort and convenience add hours to your day to enjoy the things YOU enjoy doing. The Primrose lifestyle is maintenance-free, so you don’t need to worry about or schedule time for chores — lawn mowing, fertilizing, repairs — that normally would take up your day. We take care of everything from snow removal to repairs to providing 3 delicious, home-cooked meals every single day.

Enjoying the activities at Primrose and in the greater Decatur community at large will enrich your social life. Our Life Enrichment Coordinators strive to provide healthy and entertaining activities.

You are rewarded with safety and security. Our nursing staff is on-site 24/7. Wellness checks are scheduled at regular intervals. Assistance with activities of daily living is provided in a non-intrusive and respectable manner that encourages independence and dignity.

Our housekeeping staff provide TLC at regularly scheduled intervals. Ask them about any special needs. Also, laundry services are available. Laundry hookups are available.

With so many things taken care of, you now have an opportunity to slow down and reflect. Pursue a hobby at Primrose, or join a collective volunteer effort. Read a favorite author in the library, or go online and research your geneology (or your geography). There are movies, popcorn, ice cream and coffee treats to thwart any pangs of hunger or caloric boredom, and the only requirement is pretty much just plunking yourself down in a chair and enjoying the company of folks just like you. Once you finish this type of activity, there’s exercise equipment in the Wellness Center to eliminate any guilt whatsoever.

While there’s always something to do at Primrose, it’s probably a good idea to kick your shoes off every now and then, slow down, and take some time to reflect. What’s great about the retirement living experience at Primrose, there’s no real rush or hurry to do anything unless it’s on the top of your list for the day and you absolutely want to do it right now.

Let the record show that we wholeheartedly encourage you to indulge your hobbies, crafts, pasttimes and other general efforts toward enjoying the delightful passage of time in pleasurable increments doing the things you love doing. You’re in charge of the throttle, so take it at any speed you like.

Add all of this to the beautiful people you’ll meet — people with stories and experiences to share — and you’ll be certain to experience a very rewarding retirement lifestyle.

What Our Residents Have to Say:

  • We have lived with our dog Duke at Primrose since it has opened about 3 years ago. Being able to live in our home for many years was a gift but we knew that it was time to downsize and move to a smaller home. What we enjoy most here at Primrose is being part of a community. The people are wonderful, the activities are both educational and fun, and the food is amazing! Living so close to people keeps us both healthier and happier. We can come and go as we please, and take part in the activities that we wish to do. I think the advice I would give to others that are thinking about moving is to stop thinking about it. Moving to Primrose was the best thing that we have ever decided to do!

  • I lived here since they opened in 2018. Professionally I did a lot of clerical work for the city, county, and state. When I was younger I worked at Moon Beach Church Camp, where my parents were camp cooks. I also enjoyed playing the ukulele while my Mom played the piano at the camp. After my husband passed away my place was too big for just me and I needed to downsize. Although I was apprehensive to move, being alone was lonely and I needed to be around people. People are kind here and like a family. I look forward to simple things here like coffee time in the morning, the noon meal, and Happy Hour! There is always so much going on from ice cream socials, book club, and bridge, to just simply walking outside. A little secret that I want to share with the world… the staff is awesome, they really care!

  • Primrose is a high quality residence where my grandmother currently lives. I’ve enjoyed my visits and my Grandma loves the environment and community, participating in many of its activities. The location is clean and the team there seems very friendly and caring. The pub is very cool and we’ve had impromptu family gatherings there.
