ABERDEEN, SD – Primrose Retirement Communities is moving forward with plans to build a new, state-of-the-art senior living community in Aberdeen. This new build represents a long-term commitment to the city of Aberdeen and allows Primrose to continue to have a permanent presence in northeast South Dakota. Upon completion, the building will offer between 70-100 total units of independent living villas, assisted living, and memory care.  This new design allows for services to be provided in a single campus on the south side of 15th Avenue Northeast, between Northview Lane and North Roosevelt Street.

“With change comes opportunity. We are happy to announce that Primrose will be constructing our new prototype here in Aberdeen. This will allow us to better showcase the type of work we do, to provide a state-of-the-art community for training our current and future workers, allow us to grow relationships with our local health care providers, especially in the memory care area, and will give us an opportunity to provide and grow internship and clinical work needs for our students at NSU and Presentation College. We hope to be under construction late spring/early summer of 2022,” said Jim Thares, Founder and CEO.

Primrose currently operates the Primrose Cottages Memory Care at 1518 Meadowbrook Court and will still continue to operate that property with an increased focus on specialized services. In addition, Primrose will continue to operate twelve Townhome Villas, located at 815 N 2nd Street.

Construction is projected to start in Spring 2022, opening in 2023. Once open, the community expects to employ 30-50 individuals.
