silver lace memory care

ABERDEEN, SD – Primrose Retirement Communities has introduced a new name for their memory care service offerings. The name for the services offered within their current memory care assisted living “neighborhoods” is Silver Lace Memory Care by Primrose.  The name will apply to the designated neighborhoods present as a part of 11 of their care campuses across the country that specialize in caring for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-causing conditions.

Melanie Perry, Primrose Memory Care Coordinator explains, “The Silver Lace name was selected because Silver Lace is a variety of Primrose characterized by deep purple petals, each surrounded by a silver border. We feel that this flower translates nicely to our Memory Care services by honoring the purple awareness color of Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, although we recognize that Alzheimer’s disease, and other forms of dementia, are incredibly challenging journeys to navigate, we feel that we can provide a “silver lining” to those experiences by providing home environments rich with Person Centered quality of life experiences that will assist our residents in finding their continued full potential within Primrose Memory Care communities.”

Primrose Retirement Communities, LLC, headquartered in Aberdeen, South Dakota, provides high-quality independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities across the country which specialize in personalized services and resident-focused care. The mission of Primrose Retirement Communities is to create happy and healthy living environments for seniors. Since the opening of the first Primrose community in Aberdeen in 1991, Primrose has grown to include over 33 locations in 17 states.

We have lived with our dog Duke at Primrose since it has opened about 3 years ago. Being able to live in our home for many years was a gift but we knew that it was time to downsize and move to a smaller home. What we enjoy most here at Primrose is being part of a community. The people are wonderful, the activities are both educational and fun, and the food is amazing! Living so close to people keeps us both healthier and happier. We can come and go as we please, and take part in the activities that we wish to do. I think the advice I would give to others that are thinking about moving is to stop thinking about it. Moving to Primrose was the best thing that we have ever decided to do!

I lived here since they opened in 2018. Professionally I did a lot of clerical work for the city, county, and state. When I was younger I worked at Moon Beach Church Camp, where my parents were camp cooks. I also enjoyed playing the ukulele while my Mom played the piano at the camp.

After my husband passed away my place was too big for just me and I needed to downsize. Although I was apprehensive to move, being alone was lonely and I needed to be around people.

People are kind here and like a family. I look forward to simple things here like coffee time in the morning, the noon meal, and Happy Hour! There is always so much going on from ice cream socials, book club, and bridge, to just simply walking outside. A little secret that I want to share with the world… the staff is awesome, they really care!

Primrose is a high quality residence where my grandmother currently lives. I’ve enjoyed my visits and my Grandma loves the environment and community, participating in many of its activities. The location is clean and the team there seems very friendly and caring. The pub is very cool and we’ve had impromptu family gatherings there.
